LSI School Locations in the Lonely Planets Best 10 cities to visit

Wednesday, October 30th, 2013

It seems LSI really knows how to pick them when it comes to choosing the best locations for our language schools!  This year the Lonely Planet, the international best selling travel guide, features four of our home cities as fantastic places to visit, and of course to study. Paris topped the list at number one, whilst Zurich, Vancouver and Auckland also gained places in this prestigious top 10.

Paris has been praised for its push towards a greener approach to city life (less car traffic, more pedestrian and cycle ways, the creation of beautiful ‘floating gardens’) and for its renovation of beautiful old building such as the Marais mansion. According to the travel guide, ‘The world’s most beautiful city in now even more beautiful’. Paris
Zurich it seems has been chosen by the Lonely Planet, not for the beauty of its location next to Lake Geneva or the stylish architecture, but for the wonderful nightlife, fine dining and bijou cafes. In short, Zurich is the place to go to have fun and with the European Athletic Championships due to be held in August, it’ll be awash with fit young people wanting to experience all that Zurich has to offer.
According to the Lonely Planet, the beauty of the natural surroundings, the mountains, parks and sandy beaches are the top draw for Vancouver. The city itself is praised for the big city look but small town friendliness that it exudes. We’d certainly agree with the travel guide which says you can never be bored in Vancouver, there is simply so much to do : skiing, snowboarding, biking , swimming ….. Just don’t choose Vancouver for a rest !
Last but certainly not least comes Auckland. This hip capital city, the largest city in New Zealand , boasts a great arts and culinary scene and with an amazing coastal hinterland to explore it offers so much more than most large cities. Auckland’s revitalised waterfront districts such as Wynyard Quarter, offer trendy shopping experiences and great dining precincts. With a packed calendar of festivals and events it’s almost impossible not to visit and find something different and exciting to do!

Take a look at the Top 10 cities for 2014 according to the Lonely Planet.

LSI Paris launches new website at www.lsi-paris.fr

Friday, April 1st, 2011

LSI Paris has just received a new digital face at www.lsi-paris.fr .Not only have graphics been exchanged, but an advanced CMS has been implemented and advanced website features have been installed to optimally suit the complex needs of LSI Paris.

Emmanuel Viret, Director of LSI Paris, is more than happy with the new site: “We are beginning to launch an extensive service offerings in Paris. In addition to our successful Standard 20 and Intensive 30 French daytime programmes, LSI Paris is now proud to offer English and French evening courses, including preparation for most Cambridge exams, as well as the TOEFL. We have also just launched a new service offering for companies, tailored to the specific needs of local Paris companies.”

The new website hence perfectly fulfills the needs of the LSI Paris school. The website features online tests, as well as online booking options or all courses. The Paris website has been developed based on the prototype developed for the LSI Zurich school. Regarding SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Stephan Lendi had to fight against heavy competition but the efforts seem to have been successful: “We managed to end up on page 1 of Google France between positions 3 and 5 after initial optimizations. This is an excellent basis for the fine-tuning efforts to begin now”.

But the website offers more than just an online booking engine; at times, when change has become part of daily business, the availability of current and detailed data is crucial. LSI Zurich’s Stephan Lendi, who has just completed his MBA in global marketing and global communication sees advantages also in this field: “The website also optimally fulfills our needs regarding marketing research. At LSI we want and need to stay on top of things and ahead of our competitors. Continuous evaluation of our service quality as well as our offering is crucial especially as a basis for R&D.”

We wish the Paris team continued good luck with their new website lsi-paris.fr, their evening courses and newly launched company teaching.

LSI Zurich launches new website at www.lsizh.ch

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

LSI Zurich has just received a new digital face. Not only have graphics been exchanged, but an advanced CMS has been implemented and advanced website features have been installed to optimally suit the complex needs of LSI Zurich. The stakes were also high: initially the fear was that LSI Zurich’s google ranking could possibly be jeopardized (LSI Zurich’s website has been LSI’s best optimized and best-ranked website being place 1 for over 5 years on all relevant markets). LSI Zurich school director Ian Cryer did his utmost to minimize this risk and put Stephan Lendi in charge of SEO, who had optimized LSI Zurich’s original website. The results are more than convincing, not only regarding SEO.

Ian Cryer, Director of LSI Zurich, is more than happy with the new site, “The website perfectly fulfills our needs. LSI Zurich is the only LSI school running daytime and evening courses, in-company courses and an extensive high school program in addition to a business offering which includes not only traditional courses but also online support, e-learning and online testing. This is essentially why LSI Zurich was in charge of developing the new website prototype.”

LSI Zurich’s website is actually a prototype for other LSI sites. Currently Stephan Lendi together with LSI Paris school director Emanuel Viret and marketing assistant Christelle Margalho as well as LSI’s programmer Venelin are developing the redesign and re-launch of LSI Paris’ website lsi-paris.fr. LSI’s German website is also being created at the same time.

Stephan Lendi, who has just completed his MBA in global marketing and global communication sees further advantages.”The website also optimally fulfills our needs regarding marketing research. At LSI we want and need to stay on top of things and ahead of our competitors. Continuous evaluation of our service quality as well as our offering is crucial especially as a basis for R&D.“

We all wish the Zurich and Paris teams continued good luck with the redesign of lsi-paris.fr and lsi.de.

LSI Paris Halloween – Fête d’Halloween

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

LSI Paris – Halloween festivities at LSI Paris turned the Paris language school into a haunted mansion with ghosts, cats, devils and pirates living the spirit of Halloween the Paris way.  João from Brazil who lives in the U.S. and has been preparing for the TEF exam at LSI Paris, dressed as an evil pirate of the Caribbean, was thrilled by the party: “It’s as much fun as the Halloween parties in the U.S., only that French food adds the French ‘savoir vivre’ spirit to a great occasion to party”. Christian from Germany stated: “It’s great to be with students and teachers also outside the classroom and make great friends!”
