LSI Homestays in Nova York

LSI works with homestay hosts throughout four of the five boroughs of New York City: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. Executive homestays are available exclusively in Manhattan. One of the primary factors in selecting homestays is a warm, friendly atmosphere and a clean home. We are especially interested in families who take a personal interest in the student and enjoy conversing with them and including them in some of their activities. Another key factor is travel time to the school. For those homestays located in the outer boroughs, excellent transportation links are required, with a travel time of 1 hour or less to the school. Brooklyn and Queens homestays are zoned according to travel time and are priced accordingly. Manhattan and Staten Island occupy their own zone/price category.

All our homestays are located in safe neighbourhoods. Each family provides breakfast, weekly cleaning, linens, towels, and wifi for their student(s). We have a wide range of families from different cultural backgrounds and age groups; the majority of our hosts being single and between the ages of 45 and 65. Some are married couples, some have children and/or pets, and a few are retired. Most live in apartments, with those on Staten Island living in houses in residential neighbourhoods.

Additional requirements for Homestay Hosts in New York

• Hosts must have Wi-Fi and allow free access to students ​​
• Hosts should contact the school whenever possible by email rather than by phone ​​
• Students should be given access to the kitchen in the evenings (within a sensible limit) ​​
• Help the student upon arrival to purchase a Metrocard, and find their way to the subway or bus
