This small town on Lake Geneva is the pearl of the Swiss Riviera. Welcoming visitors from throughout the whole world has become a way of life for this charming place, which is home to just over 20,000 inhabitants. In Summer the town's pulse quickens as a diverse and vibrant public from all over the world gets into the spirit of the famous jazz festival. In Montreux every season is wonderful. In the background the Alps form a magnificent panorama as well as being an all-year-round sports paradise. The colourful, palm-lined lake promenade offers up countless treasures as you make your way along it: small coves suitable for bathing that are ideal for celebrations on warm summer evenings, for history lovers an imposing 13th-century castle accessible by foot from the lakeside promenade. Major cities are also within easy reach - Lausanne and Geneva are just 20 minutes and an hour away respectively from Montreux.

The School

Our school in Montreux is located on the city's main street in one of Switzerland's most famous tourist spots, on the banks of Lake Geneva near the beautiful lakeside promenade lined with exotic trees. You can easily get to the school from your accommodation by bus or train, as the bus and train stations are 5 minutes away by foot. The course centre features bright, comfortable classrooms, and some of them have a stunning view of the lake and the Alps. The small size of ESL Montreux allows us to offer each student personal attention and to assist you when you arrive and throughout your stay. Furthermore, you may use the many computer stations or the wireless network, which covers the entire school, to access the internet and your e-mail free of charge. After your classes, you may stroll with other students right onto terraces that line the shores of Lake Geneva or head over to the nearby shops.

The Courses

General and Examination Courses

Standard 20

General French is our standard course that will enable you to gain a solid grounding in all key aspects of the French language while allowing you to dedicate much of the day to other activities.

Intensive 25

By enrolling in the Intensive French course, you will be taking advantage of the opportunity to progress more rapidly as you learn French. In addition to the Standard French coursework, you will attend 5 additional communication or exams oriented lessons each week. However, you will still have plenty of free time for extracurricular activities.

Super Intensive 30

With 30 lessons per week, the Super Intensive module allows students to progress as quickly as possible. With six lessons a day, you will quickly achieve the goals that you have set for yourself. If your time is limited, the 30-lesson course module may also be the right choice for you.

TCF module

Our TCF module offers you considerable flexibility with regard to examination dates and is ideal for students who want to enrol in a relatively short course but still wish to sit a recognised examination.

DELF module

Our two modules (8 weeks or 12 weeks) prepare students to sit the examination offered at the regional examination centre during the last week of the module.

Private lessons

To achieve your specific objectives, take a few private courses customised to suit your particular needs, goals and interests.
