This course equips speakers of other languages with the essential tools to teach English as a foreign language. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a professional development refresher, this course will build your confidence and prepare you for success in the classroom. It also serves as a reminder for experienced teachers and prepares student for the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT). It covers the core modules required for the TKT and includes practical tools for lesson planning, classroom management, and effective teaching techniques.
This programme is available in two formats. First, the closed group tuition which is designed for groups of students taking the course together. This afternoon option can be taken alongside the Intensive 30 course and will last 4 weeks, including 3 modules. The English level required is Intermediate to Advanced. Second, for individual students which is flexible and tailored to your specific teaching requests. This options can be combined with General English 20 with 5 or 10 one-to-one teaching-focused lessons per week and the lessons last 45 minutes. The English level required is Intermediate to Advanced. The topics will be personalised and include CLIL, classroom management, language analysis. This course is suitable for students aged 16 and plus.
LSI provides an English for Teaching programme that covers topics such as lesson planning, language analysis, teaching reading, writing, speaking, listening and much more, understanding learner needs and dealing with common classroom challenges. Students will also be required to maintain a teaching portfolio throughout the programme, supporting reflection and continuous improvement. This programme is taken alongside General 20. This course is offered at LSI Auckland, Cambridge, London Hampstead, and all USA schools.
