If you want to work in English Language Teaching either in Britain or abroad, the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is one of the most widely recognised qualifications in the English language teaching (TEFL) world, and certainly one of the most well-established.

After the course, you’re ready to:

  • apply for vacancies around the globe
  • work in one of the most rewarding jobs on the planet
  • make friends with people who might not normally cross your path
  • travel to your heart’s content

This programme is approved by Cambridge Assessment. It is not an English language programme and therefore is not accredited by the British Council.

Great pass rate

LSI (formerly LTC Brighton) has been a centre for the CELTA programme for over 25 years. We currently offer the programme on a four-week, full-time, basis, six times every year. Our CELTA pass rate is normally 100% for those who complete the course and we have an excellent reputation locally.

Over the years, we have trained well over 1,200 people to teach English. Many of these have gone on to work in far-flung corners of the globe, as well as in Britain.

Study with us and you’re ready to start teaching

One of the most appealing aspects of the course is that it is designed for both native and non-native speakers of English with little or no teaching experience. Even if you are a complete newcomer to the profession, the CELTA will get you to the right level so that you’re ready to teach English as a foreign language with confidence.

The LSI Brighton CELTA is an extremely practical introduction to the theory and methodology of teaching the English language. In addition to in-depth training with experienced English language teachers, you will also spend time in the classroom gaining hands-on teaching experience.

We also offer advice on how to find a job once you have qualified and also have links to organisations who recruit teachers straight from CELTA courses.
