Boston
Boston lies in the heart of New England on the coast of the state of Massachusetts. Boasting over 400 universities, colleges, and higher learning institutions, Boston is famous as an educational and cultural centre.
Unique to New England are the breathtaking colors of the fall foliage, but at any time of the year, New England is a beautiful place to visit.
The School
LSI Boston is conveniently located on the borders of Chinatown and the Theatre and Financial Districts, a short walk from major subway, bus and commuter rail stations ( see map of school location ).
There are spacious modern classrooms, a student lounge and lobby where drinks and snacks are available to purchase, a Student Resource Room with a small library of resource material, and a computer room with free internet access and self study materials.
Our monthly social and leisure calendar invites you to use your English while visiting local attractions with your new friends and teachers. Popular activities are historical walking tours, visits to the Museum of Fine Arts, skating on the Boston Common and cheering on the home side at a professional sports event. For those who would rather participate themselves, there are opportunities to go sailing, cycling, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding and more. Heading further afield, we organise weekend trips to New York, Montreal and the sandy beaches of Cape Cod.

The Courses
General and Examination Courses
Standard 20
A course with 20 lessons per week, covering all aspects of the language from pronunciation to grammar and vocabulary to practice in the four skills.
Intensive 30
Suitable for students who wish to study intensively and get a well rounded insight into the language and country. Students follow a Standard 20 course in the morning, then intensify and consolidate the tuition in the afternoon classes.
Plus Courses
One-to-One classes tailored to your needs, designed to supplement group courses.
English for Business Course
An afternoon option on the English language LSI Intensive 30 course, covering topics such as Banking and Stock Markets, Marketing and Advertising, Recruitment, Sales and Negotiating.
International School Year Intensive 30
30 lessons per week
International School Year Standard 20
20 lessons per week
An excellent opportunity to learn a new language, immerse yourself in a new culture and make friends from all over the world.
Study and Work Programme
For the first 4 to 8 weeks you study an LSI Intensive 30 course to increase your fluency and build confidence with the language. We then place you in a work experience position closely related to your career interests or educational background, allowing you to gain the skills and confidence to pursue your chosen career.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Preparation
TOEFL is required by non-native speakers of English for admission to universities in the USA and Canada. Preparation for this test at LSI is an afternoon option on the LSI Intensive 30 course.
TOEIC Preparation
This test is accepted by thousands of companies as evidence of proficiency in English in a business situation. Preparation for examinations is an afternoon option on the LSI Intensive 30 course.
Executive Courses
One-to-One
Individual tuition tailored to your needs. We offer 20, 30, 40 or 50 lessons per week.
9 Day Compact Course
A course of 82 or 92 One-to-One lessons over 9 consecutive days designed for those with exacting needs which must be met in a short time.
Mini Group
Intensive language training for business in a small group. This course can be supplemented with One-to-One lessons. In Boston this course is available from June 2 to Sept 26
