Cambridge is renowned as one of England's two great university towns, steeped in history and tradition. It has been described as one of the most beautiful cities in Britain. Today Cambridge is a thriving city of some 100,000 people. Its commercial heart is surrounded by fine buildings and green open spaces. Cambridge has a wealth of museums and galleries covering a wide range of interests. In the area surrounding Cambridge there are a large number of attractions and places of interest, and London is just an hour away by train.
The School
Why not take a tour around LSI Cambridge by watching our video below?Situated in a quiet residential area, close to the railway station and to the busy town centre, the school is perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful and historic city of Cambridge (see map of school location).
The school has 10 well equipped classrooms, a lounge, large garden and a computer room with free internet access. In the summer months we also use a nearby university campus with access to all LSI facilities. The school is a registered test centre for the TOEIC examination.Our leisure programme includes barbecues, club nights, quizzes and sports including football and golf. At the weekend you can head further afield, to London, Stonehenge, Shakespeare's Birthplace, or even Scotland or Paris.

The Courses
General and Examination Courses
Standard 20
A course with 20 lessons per week, covering all aspects of the language from pronunciation to grammar and vocabulary to practice in the four skills.
Intensive 30
Suitable for students who wish to study intensively and get a well rounded insight into the language and country. Students follow a Standard 20 course in the morning, then intensify and consolidate the tuition in the afternoon classes.
Afternoon Course
A course with 10 lessons per week for students with at least an intermediate level of English. Classes are discussion based and are aimed at improving a student's fluency and pronunciation.
Plus Courses
One-to-One classes tailored to your needs, designed to supplement group courses.
English for Business Course
An afternoon option on the English language LSI Intensive 30 course, covering topics such as Banking and Stock Markets, Marketing and Advertising, Recruitment, Sales and Negotiating.
International School Year Intensive 30

International School Year Standard 20
20 lessons per week
An excellent opportunity to learn a new language, immerse yourself in a new culture and make friends from all over the world.
Study and Work Programme
For the first 4 weeks you study an LSI Intensive 30 course to increase your fluency and build confidence with the language. We then place you in a work experience position closely related to your career interests or educational background, allowing you to gain the skills and confidence to pursue your chosen career.

The Cambridge Examinations in English are recognised and highly regarded by English speaking universities and companies. At LSI we offer tailored courses to prepare for these examinations.
-First Certificate in English (FCE)

University Foundation Programme
The course consists of 30 lessons per week . It will focus on the specific and general academic English that each student will require to study at university in an English speaking country.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Preparation
IELTS is a requirement for enrolment at universities and colleges in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Preparation for this exam is an afternoon option for the LSI Intensive 30 course.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Preparation
TOEFL is required by non-native speakers of English for admission to universities in the USA and Canada. Preparation for this test at LSI is an afternoon option on the LSI Intensive 30 course.
TOEIC Preparation
This test is accepted by thousands of companies as evidence of proficiency in English in a business situation. Preparation for this exam is an afternoon option on the LSI Intensive 30 course.

Individual tuition tailored to your needs. We offer 20, 30, 40 or 50 lessons per week.
9 Day Compact Course
A course of 82 or 92 One-to-One lessons over 9 consecutive days designed for those with exacting needs which must be met in a short time.
